I am a Supervisee in Social Work in the Commonwealth of Virginia under the supervision of Nicole Jalazo Halpern, LCSW, RPT-S. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and earned my Master of Social Work from The University of Maryland, Baltimore, and my bachelor’s degree from The University of Maryland, College Park.
I am passionate about creating a warm, safe environment where each client feels heard, understood, and empowered. I believe therapy can be an important space where young people can navigate the unique challenges of today’s world. Therapy can offer a vital space to understand ourselves, process complex emotions, and build lifelong tools for emotional well-being.
In my work as a therapist, I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for a positive therapy experience. To build this relationship, I always come from a non-judgmental and empathetic stance, valuing each client as a unique individual on their own journey. As a therapist, I’m committed to providing affirming, inclusive therapy for clients of all identities, and I honor the role that culture, race, gender, neurodivergence, and lived experience play in shaping mental health. Ultimately, at the heart of my work as a therapist is a deep respect for each client’s unique story and inner strength. Supporting clients on their therapeutic journey is something I am deeply passionate about and value.
I work with children, adolescents, and young adults and tailor my approach to each individual client. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, learning disabilities, and more. My approach is rooted in a strengths-based perspective where I focus on identifying and building upon each client’s inherent strengths, resilience, and potential. I tailor my work to meet each individual where they are and always make sure to come from a place of empathy and understanding. I utilize a range of evidence-based treatments and modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, mindfulness techniques, and more to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and coping skills.
