I am Bella Hounakey and a Supervisee in Social Work in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I am passionate about emotional and mental health because I believe our emotions govern our identity, which creates our reality. My goal is to always collaborate with individuals to process challenges that get in the way of them having a calm, stable, and fulfilling life.
I spend most of my time learning about the latest findings on trauma, C-PTSD, depression, and personality disorders, including Narcissistic Personality Disorder, impulsivity, co-dependency, all emotional grievances, anxiety, and Mood Disorder. Since trauma affects both the conscious and unconscious portions of the brain, I use a combination of talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and exposure therapy to help the body and the mind reconnect. I believe we’re not made of glass and because of that, with the proper treatment, we can work together to heal the unconscious mind and create emotional wealth.
I earned a Master of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University. My background experience includes working with children and families in foster care and residential homes, and treatment for individuals who have experienced human trafficking and sexual abuse. I am multicultural and speak French, Spanish, Ewe, and English.
