At Alexandria Place Therapy, our goal is to create a safe, accessible space for all of our clients and the community. Alexandria Place Therapy provides online therapy sessions as an option for all of our clients. We use HIPAA-approved telehealth platforms to provide therapeutic services that are equal to the experience our clients have come to trust and value, while enabling even greater scheduling flexibility and convenience.
Unlike many commercialized online therapy platforms, you’ll work with the same dedicated, experienced clinician every session — real continuity and quality care, not a rotating cast of providers.
How virtual therapy can help
We provide online therapy services for all the same presenting issues as our in-person sessions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges and parenting support, but from the comfort of your own home. Our therapists are skilled in creating a safe, warm environment that fosters strong therapeutic relationships regardless of whether we see our clients online or in person.
Our clients have found that the ease of being able to log into a therapy session from the comfort of home, on a lunch break at work, or even from a parking lot, makes it possible to receive therapeutic support while maintaining a busy schedule. Whether you’re looking to support a busy teenager juggling sports practices and extracurriculars, or want to fit in an appointment before or after work, our online therapy services make therapy more accessible.
Benefits of virtual therapy
- More immediate availability
- Greater scheduling flexibility
- No travel time
- More accessibility and accommodations available for neurodivergent clients (for example, on screen or off screen can be thought through with therapist)
- Transitions minimized
- Sensory overwhelm minimized
- Allows for distance via screen that feels safer for some clients when starting treatment, making it easier to engage.
Why us?
Our staff is uniquely qualified as relational therapists, focusing our energies on sincere and genuine connection whether we meet our clients virtually or in person. In addition, our clinicians utilize creative and engaging ways to connect via virtual play therapy sessions with our child clients, including virtual board games, sand tray, and art. For our adult clients, we are able to foster connection and support in virtual spaces, and utilize platforms such as RemoteEMDR to allow us to facilitate deep healing and growth.
Not all virtual therapy is created equal. Many popular online therapy platforms are built around volume — matching you with whoever’s available, rotating you between providers, and stretching clinicians across dozens of clients at once. At Alexandria Place Therapy, virtual care means working with the same experienced, licensed clinician every session — someone who is genuinely committed to your progress and has the bandwidth to invest in deeply understanding and individualizing each client’s treatment. As an out-of-network provider, our clinicians are not bound by strict diagnostic requirements or session caps, and are able to maintain higher standards of confidentiality and quality of care.
What sets our virtual therapy apart
- A dedicated, licensed clinician — not an algorithm matching you to whoever is next available
- The same therapist every session, so you’re building a real relationship instead of starting over each time
- Manageable caseloads that allow us to give each client the time and attention they deserve
- Ongoing, specialized training — including relational therapy and virtual play therapy for our youngest clients — not generic, one-size-fits-all care
- Consistent, high-quality care you can count on, every session
The Alexandria Place Therapy team is committed to continuing our education and training to enhance our skills in virtual therapy. We are actively engaged in multiple professional communities to ensure we are keeping abreast of best practices, new techniques and technologies, and collaborating with other experts to learn dynamic new approaches to our work on this platform.
Our team is confident in our ability to make meaningful and lasting connections and to support our clients both virtually and in person. We’ve been doing this for some time and find great success and meaning in our virtual work with clients.
