Circle of Security Parenting

What is Circle of Security Parenting (COSP)?

As parents, we all want to do the best we can for our children. At times, all parents feel lost or confused about what our child needs from us. Imagine what it could be like if you were able to navigate those moments with more confidence, making sense of what your child was asking of you. The Circle of Security® Parenting program is a relationship-strengthening framework based on decades of research about how parent-child relationships can be supported to provide secure attachment.

Who is this group for?

This group was designed for parents/caregivers of children aged 4 months to 6 years.

Benefits of COSP

Increase your confidence in parenting

All parents feel uncertain and confused about how to respond to their children sometimes. COSP helps you to make sense of their behaviors and emotional needs, so you can gain clarity on how to respond.

Strengthen the relationship with your child

Research shows that a secure relationship between children and their caregivers serves as a protective factor in infancy and early childhood and lays the groundwork for social and emotional regulation skills.

Explore common parenting changes in a non-judgmental environment

COSP works to reduce shame and blame in parenting. After all, there is no such thing as a perfect parent! And your kids don’t need a perfect parent anyway - they need you and all of your humanness to be with them.

Improve your child’s self-esteem and relationships

Children who are securely attached to their caregivers are generally more resilient and empathic, as well as more compassionate towards themselves.

Support your capacity and your child’s capacity to handle big emotions

COSP supports parents in learning to weather the storms of big feelings with their children so their children can learn to move through feelings instead of being so overwhelmed by them.

Connect with a supportive community of parents who understand

You’ll join weekly sessions with a small cohort of parents just like you who are ready to dive in and shift their relationship with their child.
