Social Skills and Friendship Group
As we start this new school year, we are entering the third school year impacted by COVID for our precious kids and their incredible teachers. Understandably, many students are experiencing difficulties adjusting to all the changes, connecting with peers, and managing anxiety. Recognizing a need for kids to have in-person time with their peers practicing social skills and being in community with each other, Alexandria Place Therapy plans to offer an 8-week outdoor social skills group this Fall for 3rd to 5th graders. The skills we’ll focus on include making friends, problem-solving, sharing and understanding emotions, and cooperation. Our aim is for each child who participates to grow in self-confidence, emotional strength, and caring compassion.
